A Letter to The FCC.....By Kevin Beary

<in response to the continuing push to deregulate media including 1996 Telecommunications act , and June 2003`s decision to further deregulate other media and their ownerships>

The lifting of restrictions that govern the percentage of market ownership in the media has and will have an adverse effect on the people.
Already our media entertainment has become sanitzed and standardized as interesting and diverse media is being bought out by corporate -"squeeze out the bloody penny" media giants that roll out the "what makes money" platforms resulting in bland , middle of the road , blah blah blah media entertainment.
In addition to the corporatizing of our entertainment is the stranglehold of one of our last remaining "checks and balances" of the government , and that is our News media and the right of Free Speech. The government can and has pulled the wool over our eyes in many aspects of governing without so much as a "Yip!" from our supposed watch dog. We all well know why; Corporate Giants control what we get to read and hear , while they hobnob with the elite government class in the backroom cutting deals that further the top 2% of society at the cost of the "thanks to the FCC" ignorant 98%.
This is not democracy , this is not capitalism, this is corporate welfare. The FCC is supposed to protect the peoples welfare , and I urge you to begin doing that again.
