1/1/2006 Review of System of a Downs 2 newest albums Hypnotize and Mesmerize \

System of a downs newest albums ROCK , combining the ethnic beats and sounds of the armenian band with hard driving melodies. Daron Malakian, the primary songwriter for the band is featured more prominently on the vocals here but that takes nothing away from Serj's ability to command attention. Instead, the two attain a level of harmonization not present on any previous releases, and the result is SOAD's most impressive vocal performance yet. Lonely day - Lori`s favorite song from Hypnotize and BYOB is my favorite from Mesmerize.

Many people say they like all types of music and then when you start quizzing them about different bands , they respond with "well no , not that type of music" I would have to include myself in that category. I like a variety of music , but I can`t say I like it all.

The types of music I like ranges from Enya -->Korn , from Zeppelin to Billy Joel. I listen to all varieties of Rock , New age , celtic , ska , punk , industrial , some techno , some folk, a few rap songs and rappers , and thats about it I believe. I hate country , most hip hop , I`m not into Jazz though I would like to be , same with classical. I admit I get bored with most hippy music and jam bands after a while , but I do like the scene for the most part.

I remember when I was young , there was a store called Titus Oaks within walking distance from my house. I used to buy used records from their (still have some) for like 50 cents each. Some of my first albums (remember it was the 80`s) were Led Zeppelin , The Doors , Billy Joel, Twisted Sister , Men without Hats , Men at Work, Def Leppard , Pink Floyd , OZZY !!!

I rememer the rocket ship , when MTV first aired and they had the battle of the bands. I think Clash went up against Def Leppard during the 1st one I remember watching. Rock the Casbah vs. Photograph. Def won.

Between us , Lori and I own approximately 500 CD`s. We have two 300 CD changers , one for her and one for me . I need to reorganize but before we moved in I had every album written down in alphebetical order and a list of what number is what cd. Simply look at the list , #20 is Black sabbath -Sabbath bloody Sabbath- and Dial it up baby. Kool.
