Memorial Day weekend 2003 - Visited Madame Tussauds in Times Square Manhatten.

Line out the door and halfway down the block but it moved relatively quickly until you get inside and the rest of the line is snaked in circles around the lobby. Still all in all it wasn`t as bad a wait as it looked.

What a cool joint - Outside in front they had wax sculptures of Pres. Bush and Colin Powell , ridiculously lifelike. They offer to take pictures in order to sell them to you at the end of the museum tour. Bring your own camera , its perfectly acceptable , actually you will spend most of your visit taking pics of your companions next to famous figures before ,after , behind , excuse me please , oh you first ...of other people doing the same....Damn , they just walked in the way of that last picture. The wax figures ...90% of them at least .. .Are extremely lifelike. The setting is in a number of different rooms with different themes. Figures are just hanging out on different corners surrounded by moving real people. Amongst the famous people are figures that look like tourists. I patiently waited for one particular wax chic to take her damn picture already when I realized it would be a while !!!

Many stars can be found here including some memorable ones... Samuel Jackson , Michael Jackson , J-LO lookin hot ! The Beatles , Bob Dylan , to .....Ru-Paul. Also included are some historical figures such as George Washington , Abe Lincoln to Malcolm X.

At $25 bucks a head , it better be interesting , but I have to say it was. I don`t know how often they add or change the displays (check their website above) but for a one time show it was definitely worth the ching!

AT the end of the tour which lasted a good hour and half they have a room that shows you how the stars pose and the figures are made.

At the very end they obviously dump you into a crappy little food court and store. Gotta love capitalism ... like you didn`t expect it !
