8/10/03 Lori and went to Jethro Tull at the Mohegan
Sun Arena. A pretty cool place to see a show , this
would be the third time I`ve seen them. Lori`s parents
picked up tickets last minute and were seated only
a few seats away from us. Ian Anderson seems to have
gotten his voice strength back and actually sounded
better as the show went on. They didn`t play Thick
as a Brick , which in the other 2 shows I`ve seen
, they used that song to start a medley of a few other
killa tunes. Instead they played Songs from the Wood
and did a medley with that.
It happened to Be Ian Anderson`s birthday on the
date of our show - He was born 8/10/47 - He still
has incredible energy for a man his age.
They ended there show as we thought they would with
Ian belting out Aqualung better than I`ve ever heard
him and obviously Locamotive Breath when the mixed
crowd got into it. In between , as typical with Tull
they played a variety of jams which some of the crowd
knew and some did not (myself included)

- Songs From The Wood
Let me bring you songs from the wood:
to make you feel much better than you could know.
Dust you down from tip to toe.
Show you how the garden grows.
Hold you steady as you go.
Join the chorus if you can:
it'll make of you an honest man.
Let me bring you love from the field:
poppies red and roses filled with summer rain.
To heal the wound and still the pain
that threatens again and again
as you drag down every lover's lane.
Life's long celebration's here.
I'll toast you all in penny cheer.
Let me bring you all things refined:
galliards and lute songs served in chilling ale.
Greetings well met fellow, hail!
I am the wind to fill your sail.
I am the cross to take your nail:
A singer of these ageless times.
With kitchen prose and gutter rhymes.
Songs from the wood make you feel much better.
